Two Reviews and a bonus Quasar Dragon Presents

A rare second post today, with a couple of brief reviews and a bonus QuasarDragon Presents. A bit rushed for time as another bad storm is about to hit and power tends to go out frequently around here.

Reviews
Megamind. Rating 2 out of 5 stars.

"The supervillain Megamind finally conquers his nemesis, the hero Metro Man... but finds his life pointless without a hero to fight." IMdB.

I wanted to like this one, but it had the worst of all flaws for an animated film; it was boring. At times it was at least mildly amusing and even touching, but the long slow moments that are intended to make megamind endearing, are more likely to induce sleep than sympathy.

Nothing really works in this film, even a great soundtrack seems rather randomly placed in the film and a thirty second snippet of a great song isn't enough to save this trainwreck.

On a more positive note, Celebrity Space (Space Hotel Series) by
Alain Gomez ($0.99) at Amazon.
"Set in the not too distant future, a worker hopes that his new job at the spaceport will allow him to get his life back on track."

A solid effort by an aspiring writer. a near future SF story featuring an ordinary protagonist surrounded several completely unlikable celebrities. A space collision story with a twist.

Quasar Dragon Presents
"The Planet of Death" by William T. Libby, from Fantastic Comics (Dec. 1939). Best described as cheesy, corny, and abrupt.

"Death Guarded the Secret of the Tiny Silent Planet Far Out in Space —That Is, Until a Red Headed Adventurer from Earth Wrested Its Treasure from the Claws of Its Weird Guardian."
