For over a decade, fans of the Rebuild of Evangelion films were treated to an amazing attraction at Fuji Q Highland that featured real-life props, life-sized EVA busts, and even situations in the film brought to life at EVANGELION:WORLD. Though yesterday, the official Twitter account for the Fuji Q theme park announced that the attraction, alongside the Endless Abandoned Mine attraction, has closed indefinitely from May 9 to make for a roller coaster that is scheduled to begin operating in summer 2022.

The EVANGELION:WORLD attraction was a fan favorite, opening near the premiere of the second film, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, and then updated for the release of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo., featuring scenes from both films, including a life-sized beast version of the head of Unit-02, and the infamous elevator scene featuring Asuka and Rei.

EVANGELION:WORLD was not updated for the release of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. The Evangelion store attached to the attraction has also been closed, though merchandise from it can still be purchased from the official Fuji Q online store.
